We have developed a proof-of-concept plugin for the GIMP 2.2. The user interface is not optimal because of several restrictions of the GIMP plugin API. The plugin succeeds on only about 50% of the pictures the GIMP tool succeeds on. This plugin is provided as is in the hope that it will be useful until SIOX is integrated as a tool in GIMP 2.4. The code is licensed under the GNU General Public License.
We recommend to try SIOX as an integrated tool in GIMP 2.3.3 or higher and not the plugin.

Installation Instructions:

To install a plugin, just copy the binary into your GIMP plugin directory and start the GIMP (under Linux: Do no forget to set the executable flag with chmod +x). For further information on GIMP plugins refer to GIMP's documentation. The plugin installs itself into GIMP's menus under Filters/Misc/Foreground Extraction....
